Change in progress!

Okay -- I'm working on updating and stabilizing the site, so things will be moving around a bit. At this point I've un-coupled the pictures gallery from the rest of the site. You can access the gallery from the navigation link at the top. There's another link at the top of the gallery to bring you back here to the main site.

Upgrading Cheddarmonger Site

Urgent news for Cheddarmongers -- the software version that runs this site is coming end of life, so I'm going to need to upgrade it.

More fantastic and exciting website stuff

Important updates -- as you may know, we have successfully migrated the Cheddarmongers site to a new version of code because the old site was way past support and it was really wonky. Well, the downside is that I updated the site to the next version, which will probably go out of support sometime this year. In addition, the gallery code is also old, and the development team that creates and maintains that has called it quits for now. Here's the details...

Bright Light

Okay, I don't count my other lighting project a success. It had a lot of benefits, but it just wasn't as bright as I was hoping it would be. So I found other lights to use:
Portable LED Photography Photo Studio Light Kit from Amazon:

Of course, the problem with these was that they were just too direct. They needed diffusion. So I made a couple of handy diffusers for them!

Portable LED Lamp

Here is my attempt at a portable LED light to use for miniature painting and photography.  When anybody asks me what's the most important part about Miniature Painting or Miniature Photography, my first answer is "light!  And when you think you have enough light, get more light!"  It really helps you see what you're doing, and it really helps bring out the truth of your fantastic paint job.

Oh the joys of site maintenance!

Okay, I tried to migrate the site software version up from the current version that is no longer supported, and it didn't work. Fortunately, I kept backups and worked off of copies. I even learned that my backup setup can use some modification as well. But as of this morning it looks like everything is back up and functional, so I'll keep plugging along.
To add to the complexity, the gallery is actually a different software from the rest of the site, but it is embedded and integrated, so my biggest concerns are breaking that integration. So far it seems pretty solid.

Site Maintenance!!

Okay, after all this time, I'm actually working up the courage to update this site.
I'm actually two versions behind, so I'll update the site one level at a time.

Time to overhaul the site...

Hello, all you Cheddarmongers! It's time to break out the dusty coding skills and update the site. Our version of Drupal is past end of life. My goal has always been to make it so that the links in the site stay so that if you ever link to a picture or page here, your link wouldn't go bad. I also want to make sure that the site has the functionality you need! With other social network sites available, what function does Cheddarmongers serve? Comments are welcome. Stay tuned. First step -- I'm going to change to a default "theme," to make it easier to update the code.

News, finally!

It's been a while, and my paintbrushes are still quite packed away, but I've done some maintenance to the site. I'm also thinking of giving the code some more updating, and I'm trying to figure out what features are actually necessary for the enjoyment of folks who use the site.

I've already dumped the event calendar and forum, as those really aren't used. I'm going to update the Links area because the current version is out-dated. The gallery is finally patched to the latest level, so it should work a bit better, but what features of the gallery do we use?

Yet another oops

Sorry 'bout that, I attempted to do some patching on the site and screwed up the gallery.
